Synopsis
Our hero, John, is twice created. He is born among the lineage of an Angel and he assumes the legendary role of Zealot X after one of the three most powerful demons murders his family and devours his flesh in hell fire.. His normal life stripped away, he turns to the only thing left in his life. Revenge. Although he battles his own humanity, Zealot X is a new breed of hero heavily inspired by events and spiritual concepts from the bible. But things aren't as simple as they appear at a glance. Beneath the surface of this story of revenge is an intricate tale of family, of betrayal, of enemies from the past stretching their grasps into the future.
What makes this story so thrilling is Apocalyptic battles between the agents of heaven and hell. The method of hell's influence brings intrigue to the story. The science of magic of ages past meets the science of technology in the future. The portrayal of demons is more realistic debating the very thoughts that drove them to and off the edge of morality. While we rehearse the histories of God in the past the future is a mystery left to our imaginations. Clues left in the bible help look for signs in a dark world that reveals itself more and more as time passes. Zealot X: MA explores this future from a science fiction perspective and gives us a more realistic super hero who is fighting a battle that was never meant to be won.
What I wanted to do as I created this world with the help of my knowledge of scripture was become like the recording angels of the people on each side, telling the story from somewhere in the center. I wanted to show readers their thoughts and perceptions. The book doesn't just make judgments about the morality of all the characters it talks about. It gives arguments that the reader can use to determine who is right and who is wrong. I just want to facilitate the reader's view into this world and help bring it to life. Another thing I wanted to do was create a layer within the context of the story where I could leave a message that will hopefully protect readers from the same deceptions experienced by characters in the story.
If I could give one word of caution; however, it would be that its rarely polite to talk about religion in the company of peoples of different religious backgrounds. And this story paints a very unfavorable image of a certain religious system that may offend some. The religious connotations lean toward the controversial and should be approached while considering the full contextual weight of the entire book and not the opinion of one of its characters.
